“Lost 35 lbs, Body Fat 25% to 9 %, Pant Size 36 to 30”

I would guess that a lot of people who start to gain weight have that one moment, be it an honest look in the mirror or an unflattering photograph, where they realize the train is running off the rails and have to make a choice about their future.  That choice for me was simple really: continue doing I’d been doing and end up being somewhere in between the Blob and Rosie O’Donnell by the time I hit 30, or take control of my life and get the help I needed to be fit.  When I found Rob at RobZFitness about a year ago, I knew two things: he and his team were the guys I had been looking for, and it wasn’t going to be an easy fix.

A little backstory: When I first started at RobZFitness, I wouldn’t have described myself as fat.  I was only 22 at the time after all.  Then I got a little dose of reality when I had my body fat checked for the first time and it came out at around 25%. Twenty. Five. Percent. That means a quarter of my body weight (around 200 lbs at the time) was pure, gooey, gelatinous flab.  That probably sounds as sexy to anyone reading this as it did to me at the time, and it was all the motivation I needed to keep me on track.

Aside from shining a light on how out of shape I really was, the first thing Rob did when I started was outline an eating plan. Much to my chagrin, Doritos, cheesecake, and Peanut M&Ms weren’t in it. But let me tell you what Rob told me, and what I’m pretty sure everyone already knows anyway: A SUPPORTIVE EATING PLAN IS OVER HALF THE BATTLE. It took a few weeks to get into the groove, but after I did, eating healthy food became pretty easy.

I ended up staying at RobZFitness for about half a year, and my experience there was pretty amazing.  Both Rob and my trainer, Taylor, were fun guys and easy to talk to about anything during the workouts (for me this was mostly baseball). Not only that, but they were encouraging and interested in making sure I was doing everything the proper way to help me get the best results possible.  That kind of moral support is really critical to anyone trying to lose weight, and I was certainly no exception.

I’ve been on my own since August, but I still follow Rob’s plan because IT WORKS. I’ve had to replace my pants twice, moving from a size 36 to a size 30, and my shirts have gone from a squeezing into a medium to fitting comfortably in a small. I also enjoy having my neck back, being able to play sports for as long as I want without sucking wind, and just being stronger in general. And in about a year’s time, that ugly 25% has turned into a much-easier-on-the-eyes 9%. It wasn’t easy, and I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of things that I enjoyed once upon a time. But it’s like Rob says: Nothing tastes better than looking good feels.

Seven Ways to Cut 250 Calories

How would you like to be 50 pounds lighter 12 months from now?

50 pounds comes out to about 3 pants sizes.

Can you image how you would look 3 sizes smaller? You’d look like a whole new, younger person.

It’s actually much easier than you think.

I’m not talking about invasive, costly surgery, dangerous pills or potions, or grueling routines.

All it takes is losing one pound each week. One measly pound.

Hang with me for a minute and I will break it down mathematically. A pound is 3,500 calories-spread that over 7 days and you need a 500 calorie deficit each day to lose 1 pound in a week.

Your 500 calorie deficit can be done by a combination of increased calorie exertion (exercise) as well as a decrease in calories consumed (eating less).

 

Follow these steps:

 

  • First, record your normal weekly exercise – look at everything from walking to participating in sports to exercising in the gym. This is your starting point. From here you’ll need to burn an additional 3500 calories on top of your normal weekly exercise.If you don’t currently exercise, then any new activity will count towards your 3500 calorie weekly goal.
  • Second, record your normal weekly food intake – this may be an eye-opener when you see how many calories you eat in a day. Record everything honestly, since you are only cheating yourself by not recording everything. Calculate the total number of calories that you eat in an average day.
  • Now divide the 3500 calories between your activity list and your food list. You could choose to eliminate 1000 calories each week and burn off an additional 2500. Or you may decide to burn 3000 calories and eat 500 fewer calories.

Here are 7 simple ways to cut 250 calories:

  1. Drink plain coffee instead of a sweetened holiday coffee drink. Flavored coffee drinks are delicious but filled with way too much sugar. Drop 250 calories (or more) when you stick with plain coffee or tea instead of sugar-filled holiday coffee drinks.
  2. Just say NO! to the holiday treats. A single slice of fruitcake may seem innocent enough, besides everyone is eating them at the office meeting, why shouldn’t you? You know that all those holiday treats are packed with fat and calories. For each tempting treat that you refuse to eat, imagine the 250 calories falling off of your waistline, and smile to yourself.
  3. Jog for 30 minutes. Want in on a little secret? The hardest part about a simple 30 minute jog is the act of getting your shoes on and walking out the door. It’s true.
  4. Exchange 20 oz of regular soda for water. You know that soda is filled with tons of sugar, so why are you still drinking it? Every time you crave an ice cold cola picture swallowing spoonfuls of white sugar. That’s probably the easiest way to weight gain. Stick with water and kiss those extra calories goodbye.
  5. Swim laps for 30 minutes. If your response to my jogging suggestion was ‘I have bad joints’, then you are in luck. Swimming is one of the best aerobic activities you can do, and it is impact-free. When you swim you recruit your entire body, a process which requires lots of energy-AKA calories.
  6. Eat an apple instead of a cookie. Do you always go for something sweet after dinner? While your first instinct may be to reach for a cookie or a bowl of ice cream, why not consider what nature has to offer? Fruit is sweet, natural and lower in calories than traditional desserts.
  7. Come give my fitness routine a try. I have the whole calorie-burning equation down to a science, and I’d love nothing more than to help you achieve your fitness goal. My workouts have been known to burn up to 500 calories at a time, so what are you waiting for?

Losing 50 pounds in 12 months is very possible. Simply use the tips above to create your daily 500 calorie deficit and you’ll be shedding the weight in no time.

5 Tips to Kick Your UnWanted Pounds Away!

Pounds, pounds, go away, come again another day! If only losing weight were as easy as singing this simple rhyme over and over. Though shedding unwanted pounds is a good deal harder than that, you can do it. Do the following four action items and you’ll get rid of those unwanted and unsightly pounds faster than you can say fad diet.

1.  Don’t Binge

You’ve had a rough day and the only thing that could possibly help you feel better is a tub of ice cream. Or so you think. In actuality, gorging yourself on super double chocolate chip ice cream isn’t going to do you any good right now or in the future. If you want to get rid of weight, you’re going to have to learn self-control. When you’re by yourself and feel hungry for something unhealthy, find something else to do. Pick up a good book, call a friend, or drink a glass of water. If you’re especially intent on losing weight (which you must be if you’re reading this article), follow the next tip.

2.  Be Exercise Minded

In the comfort of your own home, it’s easy to eat whatever you want whenever you want. Learn to identify what causes you to want to eat unhealthy foods or unhealthy amounts of food. Then, begin to modify your behavior when you come face to face with the trigger. If coming home from work is usually followed by an hour on the couch, bonbons in hand, redesign your post-work routine around exercise. When you first get home, don’t hit the couch. Hit the closet for a change of clothes, and then get to the gym or go for a walk around the neighborhood. Changing your mindset takes time and dedication, but putting exercise first on your to-do list is vital to taking off excess pounds.

3.  Deny the Treats

Many dieters feel they’re obliged to a cake or cookie now and then to celebrate their small victories. Unfortunately, this good idea can often become a trap, as the treats become more and more common. Just remember that every time you’re offered a special treat, you have the option of accepting or denying the offer. Force yourself to say “No” 10 times more often than you say “Yes,” and the special treat will actually be a special treat instead of an everyday necessity. By doing this, you’ll also watch your weight slowly and steadily decrease.

4.  Sweat It Off

For the best chance at losing weight, you’re going to have to sweat. While a quick set of push-ups during lunch break will help your body a little bit, you’re not going to get the results you seek without making yourself sweat. No matter if you choose to walk or run for miles on end, participate in a local spin class, join a kickboxing class, or work out with free weights or elliptical machines, you need to sweat. If your workout leaves you dry, you’re not pushing yourself hard enough to lose weight. Increase your workout intensity and prepare to become the thinner, healthier you that you’ve always wanted to be.

5.  Something Extra Needed

If you’ve been working to stay fit and eat healthily but you just can’t seem to get rid of extra pounds, it may be time to stop going at it alone. Instead, contact your physician, dietitian, and personal trainer to find out what specific steps you can take to begin dropping unwanted extra pounds from your body.

In the event you’ve never interacted with a personal trainer, be ready for the shock of your exercising lifetime! It is your personal trainer’s job to make sure you work harder than you’ve ever worked in the gym. Follow your personal trainer’s rigorous recommendations to the letter, and you’ll be utterly exhausted. Of course, you’ll also be on your way to losing the extra pounds you’ve picked up over the years, and shedding pounds is well worth a little sweat and soreness – right?

Egg White and Spinach Wraps

This wrap is delicious for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It’s ready in a flash, tastes amazing, and is filled with lean protein, veggies and whole sprouted grains. Try it today, but don’t be surprised if you get hooked!
Servings: 2

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3/4 cup tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 cups spinach, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup egg whites
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 2 sprouted grain tortillas
  • 2 Tablespoons pesto (purchase it pre-made, or combine 1/2 cup walnuts, 2 cups basil leaves, 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 cup olive oil, and 1 Tablespoon lemon juice in a food processor and blend until it becomes a paste.)
  1. Spread a tablespoon of pesto over each tortilla and set aside.
  2. In medium sized skillet warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until golden. Add the tomato and cook for another 3 minutes. Add the spinach and cook until it is soft and wilted. Remove the veggies from skillet, set aside in a bowl.
  3. Pour the egg whites into the skillet, season with salt and pepper. Cook until the egg is no longer runny.
  4. Arrange half of the egg whites in a line down the center of each tortilla. Top with half of the veggies and then fold the ends up and wrap like a burrito.

Nutritional Analysis: One serving equals: 288 calories, 10g fat, 28g carbohydrate, 6g fiber, and 21g protein.

How Your Rear End Helps You Live Longer

There’s a new player in the fight to stay healthy: your rear end. Use it less for sitting and more for standing and you’ll live longer.

That’s what a recent study concluded. Compared with people who sat for less than 3 hours a day, those who sat for at least 6 hours per day dramatically increased their risk of dying from any cause.

Stand Up for Health
Sitting too much turned out to be bad for everyone in the study, but even more so for females. Mortality rate in women who sat for 6 or more hours a day increased by 40 percent, while the men’s mortality rate increased by 20 percent for that same amount of chair time. In general, the more people sat, the higher their risk of death crept up. (Try these tips for moving more when you get chores done.)

Add More Activity
Do you log a fair amount of couch time outside of work? Well then, make double sure you have an exercise program. Those who sat the most and were inactive in their free time fared the worst. Mortality rates more than doubled in men and women in this category compared with those who sat the least and moved the most in their leisure moments. Basically, the more active you are all day long, the longer you’ll live. (Here’s an active hobby that leads to a longer life.)

“Lost 41lbs of Body Fat, 16% Body Fat,

Pant Size 38 to 32”

Over the years I’ve tried to stay active by playing tennis, running and working out.  However, this past fall and winter I did absolutely nothing.  The lack of activity along with by bad eating habits caught up with me real fast.  By the end of March I began thinking about my upcoming High School reunion in September along with a monumental birthday coming up in October.

I knew that diet alone was not going to get me where I wanted to be.   So when I heard about RobZFitness, I decided to check them out.  At my initial visit with Rob, I shared my goals and Rob discussed how his program worked.  His plan consisted of intense weight training, cardio and a supportive eating plan. From there, all I did was follow the plan and the results have been amazing.

Not only do I feel better and look better, I’m also healthier.

In fact, after taking medication for high cholesterol and high blood pressure for the past eight years, my doctor just recently took me completely off the cholesterol medicine and has reduced my high blood pressure medicine in half with the possibility of getting off of it too.

The results that I’ve achieved from Rob’s program has kept me motivated even now that the three month program has ended. I have lost 41 pounds of actual body fat, increased my lean weight by 9 pounds, dropped 16% body fat from 28% to 12%, and improved my body fat ranking for men my age from 13% to 93%. I’m eating healthier, I’m maintaining my weight and I’m even training for my first half marathon in October so I’m continuing to workout on my own with confidence.

Bottom line is that if you commit yourself to Rob’s program, it will work for you too.

10 pounds in 2 Weeks

The 3 magic secrets

OK, follow these rules and I promise that you’ll shed 5-10 lbs in your first 2-3 weeks.

1. Don’t eat anything that is white. Think about most foods that are white and chances are you shouldn’t be eating it. Specifically, I’m talking about white bread, pasta, sugar, white rice, and most milk products. Healthy foods like cauliflower, chicken, turkey, fish are all exceptions to this rule.

2. Only drink water, NOTHING else! How about coffee? Just to keep any possible withdrawal headaches at bay, one small cup of organic black coffee is ok. Can you add half and half?…Well is it white?

3. Don’t eat anything with the word wheat in the ingredients list. What if it’s whole wheat? Look,  if the word starts with W and ends in T and has the letters h-e-a in between, you can’t eat it. : )

Are you up for the challenge?

I highly recommend you follow those same rules for the next 14 days (No, not for the rest of your life. Just for the next 14 days.)

You will absolutely amaze yourself with your results.Remember, no white foods  (except for the few I mentioned above), only water to drink and no wheat products.

I promise this is not how you have to eat for the long term in order to shed weight and keep it off, but I do know that this is a great way to jumpstart your metabolism and see some initial weight come off a bit faster.

American Obesity

Obesity Policies are Failing in America

Adult obesity rates increased in 28 states in the past year, and declined only in the District of Columbia (D.C.), according to F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens Americas Future 2010, a report from the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). More than two-thirds of states (38) have adult obesity rates above 25 percent. In 1991, no state had an obesity rate above 20 percent.

The report highlights troubling racial, ethnic, regional and income disparities in the nation’s obesity epidemic. For instance, adult obesity rates for Blacks and Latinos were higher than for Whites in at least 40 states and the District of Columbia; 10 out of the 11 states with the highest rates of obesity were in the South — with Mississippi weighing in with highest rates for all adults (33.8 percent) for the sixth year in a row; and 35.3 percent of adults earning less than $15,000 per year were obese compared with 24.5 percent of adults earning $50,000 or more per year.

“Obesity is one of the biggest public health challenges the country has ever faced, and troubling disparities exist based on race, ethnicity, region, and income,” said Jeffrey Levi, PhD, executive director of TFAH.  “This report shows that the country has taken bold steps to address the obesity crisis in recent years, but the nation’s response has yet to fully match the magnitude of the problem. Millions of Americans still face barriers – like the high cost of healthy foods and lack of access to safe places to be physically active – that make healthy choices challenging.”

The report also includes obesity rates among youths ages 10-17, and the results of a new poll on childhood obesity conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and American Viewpoint. The poll shows that 80 percent of Americans recognize that childhood obesity is a significant and growing challenge for the country, and 50 percent of Americans believe childhood obesity is such an important issue that we need to invest more to prevent it immediately. The survey also found that 84 percent of parents believe their children are at a healthy weight, but research shows nearly one-third of children and teens are obese or overweight. Obesity rates among youths ages 10-17 from the 2007 National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) also were included in the 2009 F as in Fat report. Data collection for the next NSCH will begin in 2011. Currently, more than 12 million children and adolescents are considered obese.

“Obesity rates among the current generation of young people are unacceptably high and a very serious problem,” said Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., M.B.A., RWJF president and CEO. “To reverse this national epidemic, we have to make every community a healthy community. Americans are increasingly ready and willing to make that investment.”

Additional key findings include:

  • Adult obesity rates for Blacks topped 40 percent in nine states, 35 percent in 34 states, and 30 percent in 43 states and D.C.
  • Rates of adult obesity for Latinos were above 35 percent in two states (North Dakota and Tennessee) and at 30 percent and above in 19 states.
  • Ten of the 11 states with the highest rates of diabetes are in the South, as are the 10 states with the highest rates of hypertension.
  • No state had rates of adult obesity above 35 percent for Whites. Only one state-West Virginia-had an adult obesity rate for Whites greater than 30 percent.
  • The number of states where adult obesity rates exceed 30 percent doubled in the past year, from four to eight –Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia.
  • Northeastern and Western states had the lowest adult obesity rates; Colorado remained the lowest at 19.1 percent.

The report found that the federal government and many states are undertaking a wide range of policy initiatives to address the obesity crisis.  Some key findings include that:

At the federal level:

  • The new health reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, has the potential to address the obesity epidemic through a number of prevention and wellness provisions, expand coverage to millions of uninsured Americans, and create a reliable funding stream through the creation of the Prevention and Public Health Fund;
  • Community Transformation grants have the potential to help leverage the success of existing evidence-based disease prevention programs;
  • President Barack Obama created a White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity,  which issued a new national obesity strategy that contained concrete measures and roles for every agency in the federal government; and.
  • First Lady Michelle Obama launched the “Let’s Move” initiative to solve childhood obesity within a generation.

And at the state level:

  • Twenty states and D.C. set nutritional standards for school lunches, breakfasts and snacks that are stricter than current United States Department of Agriculture requirements.  Five years ago, only four states had legislation requiring stricter standards.
  • Twenty-eight states and D.C. have nutritional standards for competitive foods sold in schools on à la carte lines, in vending machines, in school stores, or through school bake sales.  Five years ago, only six states had nutritional standards for competitive foods.
  • Every state has some form of physical education requirement for schools, but these requirements are often limited, not enforced or do not meet adequate quality standards.
  • Twenty states have passed requirements for body mass index screenings of children and adolescents or have passed legislation requiring other forms of weight and/or fitness related assessments in schools.  Five years ago, only four states had passed screening requirements.

To enhance the prevention of obesity and related diseases, TFAH and RWJF provide a list of recommended actions in the report. Some key policy recommendations include:

  • Support obesity- and disease-prevention programs through the new health reform law’s Prevention and Public Health Fund, which provides $15 billion in mandatory appropriations for public health and prevention programs over the next 10 years.
  • Align federal policies and legislation with the goals of the forthcoming National Prevention and Health Promotion Strategy.  Opportunities to do this can be found through key pieces of federal legislation that are up for reauthorization in the next few years, including the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act; the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; and the Surface Transportation Authorization Act.
  • Expand the commitment to community-based prevention programs initiated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 through new provisions in the health reform law, such as Community Transformation grants and the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
  • Continue to invest in research and evaluation on nutrition, physical activity, obesity and obesity-related health outcomes and associated interventions.

“I Lost 18 lbs, Pant Size From 12 – 6”

After making the decision to invest in ME in 2010 I started looking online at trainers in the Tampa area.  RobZFitness caught my eye because the website was full of useful information and amazing client testimonials.  Unlike some of the other trainers I had contacted I knew immediately after talking with Rob on the phone that he was genuinely interested in helping me achieve my greatest level of fitness. At my first consultation with Rob I told him I wanted to be in the best shape of my life and comfortably in a size 8 again.

I’ve always been athletic and working out has been a regular part of my life.  However, over the last few years of frequent travel, company dinners, and an active social life (which routinely resulted in late night drive thru or unhealthy snacking) I started seeing the weight pack on.  Despite my commitment to working out and trying every fad diet on the market I couldn’t get the weight off.  I was feeling less and less comfortable in my skin and decided it was time for some professional help!

The first thing I learned was that I obviously hadn’t been pushing myself hard enough on my own.  I used to lift weights that I thought were challenging but before I knew it I was lifting double the weight!  He also taught me that eating right is a huge part of the success plan and eating less is NOT the answer.  Adopting to a supportive eating plan was easier than any of those crazy restrictive diets I had tried.

After the first month I noticed my clothes fitting differently and my strength and endurance increasing by leaps and bounds.  After two months my clothes were literally falling off me and people were noticing the difference.  After the third month of training I had pretty much had all my pants and dresses altered TWICE and my muscle definition and new shape was getting a lot of attention from co workers, family, and friends. I learned it’s true what they say…cardio and aerobics are great but it will never give you the kind of body shaping results that weight training will!  He told me to trust him very early on when I told him I was afraid of “bulking up” and I sure am glad I did because he definitely didn’t let me down!

They are amazing trainers.  Their knowledge, passion, and encouragement inspired me to reach further and further.  Now I know that my potential is limitless.  After five months I’m definitely in the best shape of my life!  I’ve lost 18 lbs. of body weight and gained that amount in lean muscle.  I’ve gone from 33% body fat to 15% and feel more confident than I ever have!  The only goal I didn’t make was getting into that size 8…I’m in a size 6 instead!!

“Lost 52 lbs, 12.5% Body Fat, 5 inches Waist”

Four months ago, I sat in my dorm room cramming for finals. I was reviewing notes, practicing problems, and eating some pizza in the meantime. It was when I looked at the reflection in my computer screen I noticed the real issue. My face – stuffed cheeks, greasy lips, and a second chin beneath it – was horrific. I was not happy with what I saw. The person looking back at me was not the person I see in my mind. I thought of myself as a smart person with strong goals and a happy life. I saw someone who couldn’t control bad habits and constantly ignored signs of poor health and inactivity. I did not go to college to gain weight, lose focus, and become a diabetic; I concentrated too much on my studies that I lost sight of some of the true priorities in life. Unable to continue with the matter, I shut off the computer screen, threw away the rest of the pizza, and resumed studying. I knew this issue needed to be addressed in the near future.

In the midst of finals week, I sat in one of my favorite restaurants eating one of my favorite meals: smoked cheeseburger with fresh cut fries. Looking for something to read, I picked up an Osprey Observer at the counter and glanced through the articles. I came upon a testimonial from a client from RobZFitness who lost a 100 pounds. I was astonished. I thought those kind of numbers are for Biggest Loser contestants or gastric bypass patients. Once again gorged with burger grease and oily hands, I said enough is enough. How can I, an eighteen-year-old kid with many years ahead of me, sit around while other people are doing something about their lives? I kept the article, returned home, and decided to give it a shot and make the call.

That night, I spoke to Rob Zulkoski. I told him who I was and where I wanted to be. I was a USF freshman severely overweight. I would be committed to the program and do whatever asked of me. I wanted confidence back, I wanted a healthy future, and I wanted a lifestyle change. I was promised all of those things. The next day, I came in to meet him and get evaluated for the weight loss program. I started out weighing 250 pounds with 33% body fat. I never thought it was that bad; it was surely quite a shock. After a few more tests and measurements, my percentile ranking for men my age was 3. That’s it. 97% of eighteen-year-olds were in better shape than I was. It was time for that to change. I signed up for a long-term commitment at the studio and was ready for a new beginning.

Four months later, I happily weigh only 198 pounds, losing a total of 52 pounds to this date. My body fat percentage dropped from 33% to 20.5%. My percentile ranking improved to 24 and the feeling is unbelievable. I climbed the Bank of America building in downtown Tampa – all 42 flights – in just over ten minutes. Never did I believe that I could accomplish all that in sixteen weeks. It’s amazing how effective Rob’s system is. If you follow the plan, eat right, and stay focused, there is no reason not to expect big results. The trainers are encouraging, firm, and have faith in your abilities. You work out with others who are going through the same process and it’s certainly beneficial to have a support system to help you through the adjustments. I am finally looking in the mirror and seeing the person that I’ve always pictured myself to be. I look forward to continuing with the plan through the coming months and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for many years to come. Thank you RobZFitness for getting me back on track and giving me a fresh start on life.

“Lost 25lbs, 11% Body Fat, 4.5” in Waist”


Like many people, my life is busy.  Between raising a family and teaching, there were few moments left in my day for me.  Exercise was one of those things that I’d get to if I could…but rarely did.  I always felt like I was running on empty.  Then there was food.  If it was sweet, then it was for me.  I had tried a variety of programs over the years, but could never find one that would stick. Each time the weight I lost would find its way back…and usually it brought along a friend or two.  While I was never pleased about this, I trudged along with the daily routine figuring I’d fix it when I had time.

Then for Christmas, my wonderful husband gave me the best present ever…time at RobZFitness.  At my initial consultation, I learned that I was in better shape than 1% of women my age.  WOW! Suddenly, putting me last did not seem like such a good plan anymore, so I signed up for a three month program and hoped for the best.

Would I describe changing my entire thought process about exercise and eating as easy?  No…but necessary to get healthy.  I was impressed with the fitness and supportive eating plan and thrilled that it is based on scientific data and backed by actual results.  The entire family has benefited from the change to more wholesome and less processed foods.

However, the thing that impressed me most about RobZFitness was the compassion, encouragement, and support I received from my personal trainer Taylor Green.  Having never worked out like this in my life, there were many things I was hesitant to try or simply was too out of shape to do.  (I couldn’t even jump rope anymore!) But as any good student would, I followed the directions and did what I was asked to do…with a smile on my face.  And boy am I glad I did!

In the three months that I trained at RobZFitness with Taylor, I lost 25 pounds of weight and 11% body fat. Having lost 4.5” around my waist, I’m also down three pant sizes and have the energy that I remember from before having children.  I am building more lean muscle every week and have improved my cardio greatly.  I am excited about the changes I’m seeing in myself and my daily routine, from the way I’m choosing food to the time I allow myself to exercise.  This has been an amazing start to the ever improving me.  RobZFitness gets an “A” in my book!

I’m originally from the small town of LaGrange, Ohio but have been living in Valrico for the past 18 years. I graduated from Durant High School in 2005 and in May I will be a proud graduate of the University of Tampa with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science, Adult Fitness. I recently became certified for personal training through ACE and I am also AFAA certified for group fitness.

Throughout high school I was very active. I was involved in cheerleading and dance and was also a competitive swimmer for 7 years.  I knew that fitness was important to me and was blessed when I realized that I could make it my career. I started teaching group fitness in 2008 at Shapes and Campo YMCA. I have taught Step, Body Sculpting, Gliding and Kickboxing. I then started personal training in 2009. I love the opportunity to work with others and experience their positive changes along with them.

I am a member of Bell Shoals Baptist church and in my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Once I graduate I plan to continue to train for RobZFitness and pursue further education as a Clinical Exercise Specialist.

I have known Rob for quite a few years and am very excited to be a part of his team. I firmly believe in the program Rob has created and know it is the best, healthiest way to see results. I think that it should take work to achieve something you really want and achieving health and fitness is no exception. It does take work to achieve your goals but anyone and everyone is capable of doing so.
